Stacy Pursell – Founder and CEO of The NonProfit Recruiter™

Stacy Pursell, founder and President of The NonProfit Recruiter™, a division of The Pursell Group LLC, is a globally respected Executive Search Consultant and recruiter, ranked in the top 1% of search consultants worldwide. She is a talent scout and workplace/workforce expert, helping to build world-class organizations within the nonprofit and not-for-profit realm. Stacy helps nonprofits and associations of all sizes locate and hire the best talent for specific needs. She has not only assisted larger organizations in recruiting senior-level leadership, but she’s also helped start-up organizations build their teams. Stacy has 20+ years of executive search and recruiting experience and was a National Top Ten Account Executive and Pacesetter for one of the world’s largest search firms before starting her own firm in 2004. She has won numerous awards in the search profession.

Stacy began her Executive Search career placing sales and marketing executives within Fortune 500 companies, which include consumer packaged goods and food and beverage companies. One of her client’s organizations was a pet food company who needed an executive to build and grow a sales organization. Completing that assignment led to another assignment with another pet food company to find an executive who was also a veterinarian to lead a team of professional services veterinarians who helped handle the sales training for that organization. This led Stacy to form an executive search practice focused on the Animal Health, Veterinary and Pet Products Industry.

Through her search practice in the Animal Health Industry, she landed a number assignments with nonprofit organizations which led to successful placements including with Guide Dogs for the Blind, The Morris Animal Foundation, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the International Council for Veterinary Assessment (formerly known as the NBVME), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and other nonprofits placing development professionals, executive leadership, marketing and scientific professionals, executive directors and vice presidents. Her interest in working with nonprofit organizations and associations to find top talent led her to create The NonProfit Recruiter. The NonProfit Recruiter helps nonprofits find development professionals, executive leadership, marketing and scientific professionals.

Stacy is a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC), meaning that she’s part of an elite group of search professionals who have shown their commitment to the advancement of ethical standards and to the quality of the work performed in the search profession. She served a board member for the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) for four years; is a member of Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms; and has been a contributor for Next Level Training, the leading recruiting industry training firm.

In addition to being a CPC, Stacy is a Certified Employee Retention Specialist (CERS), and a member of an elite group of about 30 search professionals who currently hold this active certification and have passed this challenging exam.

Finding and retaining employees is the #1 concern of employers in today’s marketplace and this certification helps our clients become better at retaining their employees in order for them to have a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Stacy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Oklahoma State University and worked in the Television Broadcasting and Television Advertising industries before joining the search profession in 1997.

Darrell Pursell – COO

The NonProfit Recruiter | Darrell PursellDarrell Pursell is an Executive Search Consultant, Recruiter, and Chief Operating Officer for The NonProfit Recruiter.

Darrell is a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) and a member of an elite group of search professionals who have passed this challenging exam to show his commitment to the advancement of professional and ethical standards and to the quality of the work performed in the Search Profession.

Prior to joining the executive search and recruiting profession, Darrell was in the accounting and finance profession. He was a Corporate Controller for a telecommunications company and was an Audit Manager in big 5 public accounting where he provided audit services and business advice to SEC Fortune 500 clients.

He has diverse industry experience including nonprofit organizations, higher education, health-care, animal health, veterinary, pet products, telecom, software, energy, manufacturing, and financial institutions.

In addition to being a CPC, Darrell is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and he does maintain an active CPA license.

Darrell previously served as a Loaned Executive for the United Way.
